URP Tuesdays -- Jay Kin in the spot + Giveaways!

We got into another Tuesday of URP madness this week, which opened up with some Big M Youtube DJ'ing. Pretty solid, hit us up on Facebook for booking information!

We were joined by Vancity's Nicest, Jay Kin live in studio to discuss his newest release, Sneakers & Videogames. If you haven't checked it out yet, hit up the website: www.JayKinLive.com. It's a free download, so you really have no excuse not to get your mitts on it! We also talked about the origins of the album concept (hint: Japan!), recently opening up for the legendary Dead Prez at Fortune Sound Club and much more. Check out the podcast and his website for more goodness.

Plenty of good tunes in the mix tonight, including an Outkast set, Jay Kin, Sean Price, Nas, E.D.G.E., Black Rob and many more. Check out the podcast very soon right here and on www.URPRadio.Podomatic.com

URP Radio -- August 31, 2010 -- Rock The Bells wind-up

Gyeah!

I (Big M) was fortunate enough to make it to the NYC leg of the Rock The Bells tour so this week's show was giving the people a review of the best show I've ever witnessed! DJ Premier, Slick Rick, Rakim, KRS-One, Brother Ali, DJ Muggs & Ill Bill, Lauryn Hill, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop Dogg and many more tore it down and made it difficult for Guerilla Union to top this year's lineup. DOWNLOAD THE PODCAST HERE FOR THE FULL REVIEW!

We also got into a Double Shot from DJ Muggs & Ill Bill's collaboration album, Kill Devil Hills. As expected, Muggs comes with the sinister beats that have made him one of the most consistent (while underrated) producers in Hip-Hop and Ill Bill brings the energy-laden vocals that complement the beats nicely. Appearances from B-Real, Raekwon, Sean Price, Slaine, Vinnie Paz and more are nice additions to the album and contribute to making it an album worth your while!

Nice freestyle over a Premier instrumental

Fat Joe & DJ Premier - I'm Gone

Nice track. Fat Joe always seems to step it up over Premo production.
