URP Tuesdays -- September 7th, 2010

We skipped the Double Shot this week and got right into the tunes because, well, we weren't really feeling much that came out this week. Next week is looking good though, with Black Milk, Rah Digga, Rustee Juxx and Watchmen all releasing music. A deluxe edition of Pete Rock & CL Smooth's Mecca And The Soul Brother is also coming out on the 17th, including a 20 page liner booklet, unreleased versions of classic tracks, acapellas and instrumentals.

We were then joined by a friend of the show, Roc C. We featured his new album, Scapegoat, which was released digitally a couple weeks back. The physical copy was released today so it was only right that we reached out to him tonight! We discussed distribution, writing, touring, collaborating and more! Check him out at www.MySpace.com/RocThisWay and support Scapegoat! Worth every penny, no coaster.

We played tons of tracks tonight, including material from J. Cole, Roc C, Nas, Curren$y, Skyzoo, Foreign Exchange and many more... Stay tuned for the podcast on www.URPRadio.Podomatic.com and keep it locked right here for all your Urban Renewal Project needs!

URP Radio -- August 17, 2010 PODCAST - Roc C & The Sleepwalkas

Catching up!

We set it off with a Double Shot from the new album courtesy of our friend Roc C, "Scapegoat". We've had Roc on the show before and will be getting him back in the weeks to come to discuss the project, which we are feeling here at the URP. Hit up Roc at www.MySpace.com/RocThisWay to keep up on all the moves being made by the California vet!

We then got into an interview with Brooklyn mainstays, The Sleepwalkas. We discussed their history in the game, collaborations with the likes of Sadat X, plans for their next project as well as how the collective came together to put out Hip-Hop music that pays homage to the old, looks ahead to the future and deals with the present. Check out The Sleepwalkas on pretty much every social networking site, including Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Bandcamp and Reverb Nation!
