BIG track

Here's a track that is going to be in heavy rotation on the Urban Renewal Project for a while (hopefully). It's called Coastin' by Zion I featuring K. Flay. That synthesizer just does it for me. Check out the girl K. Flay that Zion's got singing the hook too, she's sounding good. Her official website (www.kflay.com) is just forwarding people to her myspace (www.myspace.com/kflay), so hit either one of those up. Anyways, here it is:

February 17th -- Urban Renewal Project PODCAAAAAST

I was right. I predicted a great show and that's exactly what we got. We featured a double shot from Zion I's new disc, The Takeover (which has the ill cover art, check it). I'm really feeling "Coastin'" , cause I'm a sucker for the synthesizers. It will be the BIG track of the week, don't worry.

We were also joined by veteran MC and co-founder of the Justus League, Cesar Comanche. Good interview with him, and don't forget to check out his new album, Die In Your Lap.

Download the podcast HERE and hear the heat from Zion I, Cesar Comanche, G&E, Xzibit, Moka Only & Bootie Brown, N.A.S.A. and more!

Big up Big up!

Nothing but the best on the Urban Renewal Project! Except for our microphones and headphones apparently, but hey, take the good with the bad! Hot show tonight! We got into a double shot from the new N.A.S.A. album, The Spirit Of The Apollo, which has a gamut (as DJ Sage would say) of dope features from E-40 to Method Man.

We also dropped a pre-recorded interview with The Dusty Foot Philosopher himself, K'Naan. Good talk, and DJ Sage's voice sounds about 5 levels deeper than usual. We were also joined by a staple in Vancouver Hip-Hop, Emotionz. He chopped it up about the Vancity scene, as well as Monday Night Live, the city's only weekly Hip-Hop showcase.

Don't forget to check out www.UrbanRenewalProject.net and download the Podcast in a couple days! You aren't gonna wanna miss hot tracks from Raekwon, Emotionz, Homeboy Sandman, Jay Electronica, K'Naan, Eratik Statik, Black Milk, Notorious BIG and more!

What happened to peace?

URP Radio -- February 10, 2009!

On point!

Good show last week, from a music and interview standpoint. We were down a body and some of us were under the weather but we made the best of it! Thanks to Homeboy Sandman for joining us and Musab from the Hieroglyphics crew for taking time out of his seemingly busy schedule to chop it up with us.

We will be joined this week by Somali-Canadian MC, K'Naan. The Dusty Foot Philosopher has not only been getting spins on the Urban Renewal Project, but also on MuchMusic with his dope single, "ABCs". Great track and great video. We're also working on linking up with another major player in the Canadian Hip-Hop scene, so listen up!

As always, you can catch the Urban Renewal Project every TUESDAY NIGHT, 10pm-1am PST on 102.7fm CFRO, or online at www.UrbanRenewalProject.net (Look for the LISTEN LIVE link at the top of the page). While you're on the site, don't forget to join the LIVE chat room and pass along your questions, comments and requests! Also check up on the URP Blog and Store!

Peace!
