July 21st, 2009 -- PODCAST

What's good?

We got it going tonight with a Double Shot from DJ Spinna's new album, "Sonic Smash". This talented DJ and producer has worked with the biggest names in Hip-Hop, and does not disappoint with this new disc. Features include Torae, Homeboy Sandman, P. Casso and plenty more, so do not sleep on this one.

We were joined live in studio by the 2009 Red Bull 3Style DJ Competition champion, DJ Mensa. We discussed the T. Dot scene and Rock The Bells before he got into a sick mix of his own, giving DJ Sage the rare break! Check Mensa out at www.MySpace.com/DJMensa!

Emotionz also slid into the spot to run down some events and give our listeners a sneak peak at his new album, "Kush". We bumped a few new tracks, all of which were heat. Check out the album on iTunes on August 3rd, 2009! If you're in or around the Vancouver area on that date, hit The Modern (in Gastown) for Emotionz "Kush" album release party! Don't miss out! Hit up Emotionz on MySpace (www.MySpace.com/Emotionz) for more details about "Kush" and Monday Night Live!

Overall, we were treated to a very dope night of great tracks courtesy of DJ Sage, DJ Mensa and Emotionz. We really let the music do the talking this time, with cuts from Q-Tip, Jay Kin, Tona, Jadakiss, J Dilla, DJ Quik & Kurupt, Drake, Emotionz and plenty more. Don't sleep on this show! Everlast, DJ Lethal, Danny Boy, Slaine and Ill Bill come together with the help of the likes of B-Real, DJ Muggs, Sick Jacken and more to drop a pretty nice album that bangs hard! If you're fiending for some grimeyness over top of hard beats, this is the album for you!

We were then joined by Ticklah of the Def Jux indie-rock-R&B-Soul-Funk band, Chin Chin. We discussed what the group is all about, which as Ticklah describes, is freaking peoples minds and booties. We discussed the nature of their live show, El-P, AutoTune, Talkbox and plenty more! If you're in the Vancouver area, check them out at the Railway Club on July 16th! Then, if you feel so inclined, you can check them out in Cumberland and Tofino after that! Hit them up at www.ChinChin.tv for more info!

Did you miss us? Because we missed you...

We got right back into our groove by featuring Alchemist's brand new album, Chemical Warfare, which features a ton of dope guests and Alc's banging production! Check this one out, you will not be disappointed!

We then got into an interview with legendary Rock Steady Crew member, DJ JS-1. JS-1 released "Ground Original: No Sell Out 2" a couple weeks ago and it is a certified banger! We got into some discussion about the creative process that went into this album, as well as Serato and DJs in general as well as support in Hip-Hop. Check out JS-1 at www.DJJS1.com !

We were also joined live in studio by the crew of Canada's best counter-culture mag, Abort Magazine. Dudley Perkins (aka Declaime) also joined us for a phone interview on this jam-packed show. Coming out of an Hip-Hop hot spot, this Oxnard California native had a lot to say about the revolutionary times we are living through, Stones Throw Records, spiritual music and why it's time to question authority. Check him out at www.myspace.com/dudleyperkins !

We also had a lot of heat to throw your way because of our week off. We rocked a lot of tracks from the likes of Sean Price, Alchemist, JS-1, Jay Kin, Tona, Royce Da 5'9, Wu-Tang Clan and plenty more.
