URP Radio -- August 10, 2010 -- Rich Kidd Interview

Once again!

We kicked off by featuring a Double Shot from Rich Kidd's new project, On Some Rich Kidd Shit Vol. 4, as well as an interview with Rich Kidd himself. We discussed his creative process, collaborating with the likes of Marco Polo and DJ NaNa, sampling, touring and more! The man's responsible for plenty of great tunes so make sure you stay up on his every move! We'll be uploading On Some Rich Kidd Shit Vol. 4 on the URP BLOG shortly so stay tuned!

We also got into a good sized Smif-N-Wessun set in anticipation of the DuckDown duo hitting Bar None this Thursday. Vancouver's fiending for this one, should be a scorcher!

Make sure you check out the podcast on the URP BLOG ASAP! It should be up withing a day or so. Good music from Rich Kidd, Smif-N-Wessun, Sadat X, Zion I, Kardinal Offishall, Eric B. & Rakim and plenty more!

URP Tuesdays -- August 3rd, 2010

Another Tuesday means you will be absorbing the best Hip-Hop has to offer! Underground, mainstream, classic, new and old, we spin it all.

We featured Wale's new mixtape, "More About Nothing" as our Double Shot this week. The follow-up to his acclaimed 2008 Seinfeld-themed "Mixtape About Nothing" definitely lives up to its predecessor and showcases what Wale is all about. Even if you weren't feeling his debut LP, you'll enjoy this mixtape. Here's hoping this style of record continues onto his sophmore LP. Download the mixtape here, we got it a few posts down.

No interviews this week, which means tons of tunes in rotation tonight. Everything from Jay-Z to The Sleepwalkas to The Clipse to Choclair, we got you covered! We also ran down a ton of August show dates in the Vancouver area from local favourite Snak The Ripper. He's on tour with none other than R.A. The Rugged Man and will be tearing it down once again, this time with some all-ages shows! Hit the podcast to get the dates and check out his FACEBOOK PAGE to keep up with Snak!
