August 18th -- URP Radio PODCAST
We hit off tonight's show with an extensive Mos Def mix in light of DJ Sage opening up for the Black Jack Johnson on August 27th at the Vogue Theater in Vancouver! We discussed the extensive and eclectic nature of Mos Def's catalog and how it was difficult to mix a lot of his tracks, but Sage held his own for sure and came away with a nice set.
We also ran down the highlights of Sage's trip to the Bay Area, where he caught up with the Brooklyn duo, aptly named Duo Live, backstage at the Ghostface/Method Man/Redman show. They discussed a variety of things ranging from beef in Hip-Hop to their new projects and aspirations. Check them out at www.MySpace.com/DuoLive for all the latest on this talented duo and go cop “The Color Of Money” now.
Check out the podcast of tonight's show at www.UrbanRenewalProject.net! We got music from the likes of KRS-One & Buckshot, Snak The Ripper & RA The Rugged Man, Masta Ace & Edo G, Jendor, and of course, the mighty Mos Def. CLICK HERE to download, or hit the Podcast link on the website.

URP Radio PODCAST -- August 4th
We had a shortened show tonight due to station scheduling, but we still had time to rock the house, your car, your bedroom, your earphones and your world.
We got it started off by featuring the soon-to-be released LP by the latest Hip-Hop supergroup, Slaughterhouse. The collective of Royce Da 5'9, Royce Da 5'9, Joe Budden and Crooked I. These dudes smack you in the face with hard hitting tracks all disc long so check it out if you wanna hear a dope album featuring dope MCs from a few of the Hip-Hop hot spots in the US!
We were then joined by Emotionz for what we hope will become a recurring segment. He filled us in on what will be popping for Vancity's longest-running live Hip-Hop night, Monday Night Live. We will be building off tonight's segment, and will feature artists who roll through MNL as well. Check out Emotionz at www.MySpace.com/Emotionz to check Monday Night Live lineups as well as tour dates for the man himself!
Check out the podcast of this week's abbreviated show! You won't be disappointed by the hot music we threw down, from Snak The Ripper to DJ JS-1, DJ Honda to Skyzoo, Saukrates to Eminem and more! CLICK HERE to download it now!

URP Radio PODCAST -- July 28th, Rock The Bells edition
What's good party people?
We were just treated to a great day of Hip-Hop thanks to the Rock The Bells tour which went down on August 1st at Deer Lake Park. Instead of doing a Double Shot this week, we just got right into showcasing the artists that were part of the Vancouver line-up at Deer Lake Park this weekend. That means lots of Nas, Common, Reflection Eternal, Tech N9ne and more!
We also got into a few interviews with the artists as well! We were joined over the phone by Chali 2Na and Tech N9ne, both of whom have new projects out now! We also discussed Rock The Bells and who they were excited about sharing the show with and more! Check them out at www.MySpace.com/Chali2Na and www.MySpace.com/TechN9ne, respectively.

July 21st, 2009 -- PODCAST
What's good?
We got it going tonight with a Double Shot from DJ Spinna's new album, "Sonic Smash". This talented DJ and producer has worked with the biggest names in Hip-Hop, and does not disappoint with this new disc. Features include Torae, Homeboy Sandman, P. Casso and plenty more, so do not sleep on this one.
We were joined live in studio by the 2009 Red Bull 3Style DJ Competition champion, DJ Mensa. We discussed the T. Dot scene and Rock The Bells before he got into a sick mix of his own, giving DJ Sage the rare break! Check Mensa out at www.MySpace.com/DJMensa!
Emotionz also slid into the spot to run down some events and give our listeners a sneak peak at his new album, "Kush". We bumped a few new tracks, all of which were heat. Check out the album on iTunes on August 3rd, 2009! If you're in or around the Vancouver area on that date, hit The Modern (in Gastown) for Emotionz "Kush" album release party! Don't miss out! Hit up Emotionz on MySpace (www.MySpace.com/Emotionz) for more details about "Kush" and Monday Night Live!
Overall, we were treated to a very dope night of great tracks courtesy of DJ Sage, DJ Mensa and Emotionz. We really let the music do the talking this time, with cuts from Q-Tip, Jay Kin, Tona, Jadakiss, J Dilla, DJ Quik & Kurupt, Drake, Emotionz and plenty more. Don't sleep on this show! Download the PODCAST at www.UrbanRenewalProject.net, available right now!
