URP Radio -- Tuesday, April 14

*Editors Note*
I totally thought this was posted last week, but I guess wireless connections screw me over once again! And now, without further ado, onward with the blog! :

Jam packed show last week!

Seems like we talked with the entire Vancity hip-hop scene on this Tuesday night. We were joined by Planet Asia (www.myspace.com/planetasia) , who will be judging the Vanquish Beat Battle this Thursday April 16 at Tunnel nightclub in Vancouver. He will be joined by the Boom Goonz (Snak The Ripper, Young Sin, Fatt Matt, Lesk One & D-Rec) and the event will showcase the best producers Vancouver has to offer. Planet Asia, Tachichi and E.D.G.E. will also be performing, so check it out!

The Boom Goonz also joined us live in studio and discussed Vanquish and then got into a dope cipher live. Check out their myspaces to check out their music and tour dates and more!

We were also joined by Mr. Lif, who is dropping his new album "I Heard It Today" on April 21st. He discussed the album as well as some tour dates coming up. Check out www.myspace.com/mrlif for tour dates! He's on his tour grind right now so chances are he's doing a show in your town! If you're in the Vancouver/Victoria area this week, check him out on at Sugar Nightclub in Victoria on April 15 and Richard's On Richard's in Vancity on April 16. He's got more dates in the Northwest so check out his myspace!

Vancity's own A-Slam (www.a-slam.com) were also live in studio. Check out their remix of "I Need A Girl" on YouTube, which has gotten over 15 000 hits in the short time since its been uploaded. You can download lots of A-Slam's original tracks on the website plus gather any information you might need. The Lost Soul Recordz mixtape will out next week on www.LostSoulRecordz.com.

Sik Vik and DJ Harmonic also came through the studio (check them out at www.myspace.com/sikrum , www.myspace.com/harmonichiphop) and hooked up an exclusive track featuring Melissa Mills (www.myspace.com/mellisamills) called "Two Sides To Every Story". Keep on the lookout for them, as we will be spinning some cuts from their new mixtape in the weeks to come.

Somewhere in there we managed to get into a bunch of dope music as well from D-Block to K-Os so check out the podcast on www.UrbanRenewalProject.net!

Peace!
